Coronado Spotlight- Best Places in San Diego
Summer is winding down and I realized that I want to continue my San Diego adventures throughout the upcoming year. Just because it's not summer anymore, it doesn't mean I can't go to fun places or explore new things in San Diego. I decided to start a new series on my blog called San Diego Spotlight in order to push myself to do more in this beautiful city. I want to share with you new brunch spots I find or cute places to go around San Diego to take pictures. In the first post in this series, I'm sharing my Coronado adventures with you.
Coronado
Before this summer, I had never been to Coronado. Now I've been there multiple times and I definitely think it's one of my favorite places around San Diego. Coronado is a small island town off of the San Diego Bay and I love it because it has a quaint, small-town feel to it, even when it's filled with tourists throughout the summer. Even though it's an island, there's plenty to do. You can spend the day on the beach, walk through the Hotel del Coronado or shop around the downtown area. The beach is a perfect place to go if you're looking for something to do on a hot summer day. The coastline goes for several miles along the island so the beaches don't seem too busy, even when there's plenty of tourists on the weekends. I love the beach in Coronado because the water seems much warmer than other places in San Diego and the rest of Califonia. If you're looking for a nicer meal, the Hotel del Coronado is definitely where you should go. Nothing is better than eating a nice meal while being able to look out at the ocean. You can also go for a walk along the beach after your meal.
I love walking around the downtown area in Coronado. There's one main street filled with many shops and restaurants. If you're looking for more low-key places to eat, you can definitely find somewhere on Orange Ave to eat. Both times I've been in Coronado, I've stopped and had ice cream at Moo Time Creamery. Moo Time Creamery is an amazing ice cream shop with many options, including ice cream sandwiches. If you head to Coronado, definitely walk around downtown and check out the shops and food.
I hope you enjoyed the first post in my San Diego Spotlight series! I would definitely recommend visiting Coronado if you haven't been there before!
